Ceremonial Earrings
These earrings are hand made in a village to the East of Bali.
All of the Hindi woman know these earrings as being the traditional and ceremonial earrings you wear to the temple and to be married in.
What struck me as beautiful is the mandela front…a design that takes you deep into yourself.
Though the designs vary slightly, always there is a Mandela with a center stone.
But also, the ancient way of plugging the back ( almost cork shaped with a metal piece), so that it enhances even the back of your ears by bringing them out ever so slightly.  Both sections are decorated. It’s an amazing look and fully authentic even today.
