These Batik long pants resemble cargo pants with two  knee  pockets with velco closures and one back pocket. They are so comfortable with an elastic waist band. Pants include side pockets and cargo pockets on the knees. We have discovered they are unisex… as guys won’t take them off.
Sizes come in small and medium.
They will not shrink when washing.
There are several hand carved bone buttons as detail.

About this Authentic Batik Fabric:
We discovered a very eco-friendly company on the island of Java who send people out into different regions to source the used traditional  batik.
Typically this batik would have come from a sarong and could have been torn, but was most certainly washed in the creek many times as they do there, making it quite soft. This Javanese traditional batik fabric is from mixed colors of indigo and browns. Each region has their own unique designs that are typically scenes from everyday life.
They take the collected fabric and sew it in a patchwork design. When put together the very re-cycled fabric pieces blend like a piece of music. Next the piece is lined and double stitched to make it very durable. They use our pattern design to make the 4 coordinated selections you see here on line.  If you are intuitive, you can almost sense the vibration of the people who wore this fabric before.
The Batik process:
Batik is a long process and an art of ancient tradition. Melted beeswax is applied by the artist to cloth before being dipped in dye. Thin wax lines are made with a wooden handled tool with a tiny metal cup with a tiny spout, out of which the wax seeps. Wherever the wax has seeped through the fabric, the dye will not penetrate. Sometimes several colors are used, with a series of dyeing, drying and waxing steps.
After the last dyeing, the fabric is hung up to dry. Then it is dipped in a solvent to dissolve the wax, or ironed between paper towels or newspapers to absorb the wax and reveal the deep rich colors that give batik its character.
